Writing Better: A Script Font That Elevates Campaigns

When I was finalizing the visuals for our upcoming seasonal sale, I needed a font that could convey warmth and approachability without sacrificing clarity. The campaign was all about creating a cozy, inviting feel to encourage customers to shop early. After testing several options, I landed on Writing Better. It’s not just another script font—it’s a character in itself, with a personality that feels both natural and intentional.

A Handwritten Feel That Works Hard

Writing Better is a handwritten font with a sweet and friendly vibe. Its strokes are fluid yet consistent, making it feel like a hand-written note from a friend. Unlike some overly stylized scripts, it maintains readability while still offering a unique visual appeal. This balance is what makes it so versatile for a variety of campaign needs.

I used Writing Better for the main headline of our sale graphic. It stood out against a warm background, drawing the eye immediately. The font’s natural curves and subtle flourishes added a touch of charm without overwhelming the message. It felt like the perfect match for a seasonal campaign that wanted to feel personal and relatable.

From Social Media to Digital Ads

In a real-world campaign, Writing Better shines across multiple platforms. For Instagram posts, I paired it with a clean sans serif font for body text. The contrast between the two made the copy easy to read while keeping the overall design visually engaging. On YouTube thumbnails, the font worked well as a title element, especially when placed over a dark background. Its legibility even held up in small previews, which is a big plus for fast-scrolling feeds.

For digital ads, I tested Writing Better in different formats. It performed best in short headlines and callouts, where its expressive style could shine without getting lost in dense information. I found that using it for promotional banners or webinar headers gave the content a more dynamic feel compared to standard sans serif fonts. However, I’d caution against using it for long-form text or formal corporate messaging, where clarity and professionalism take precedence.

Pairing Strategies for Maximum Impact

When pairing Writing Better, I leaned into complementary styles. A clean sans serif like Montserrat or Inter worked well as a counterpoint, ensuring the design remained balanced. For a more elegant look, I paired it with a serif font like Playfair Display. These pairings helped maintain visual hierarchy and kept the focus on the key message.

I also experimented with script fonts for a cohesive look. Using Writing Better alongside other script fonts created a sense of unity in branding campaigns. However, I always checked for consistency in stroke weight and spacing to avoid a cluttered appearance.

Readability Across Platforms

One of the biggest concerns with script fonts is their readability on smaller screens. I tested Writing Better on mobile devices and found that it held up surprisingly well, especially when used in larger sizes. For thumbnails and image overlays, I recommended increasing the font size slightly to ensure visibility without sacrificing style.

On dark backgrounds, Writing Better looked striking, but I made sure to use light-colored text to maintain contrast. On light backgrounds, I adjusted the stroke thickness to prevent the text from blending in. These small tweaks made a big difference in how the font performed across different contexts.

Design Assets and Brand Consistency

Before integrating Writing Better into client campaigns, I always checked the included styles, alternates, ligatures, weights, and file formats. Having access to multiple weights and alternates allowed me to adapt the font to various design needs. The multilingual support was also a bonus, especially when working with international clients.

For brand identity projects, I used Writing Better in logo-style text and campaign labels. It added a personal touch that aligned with the brand’s voice. However, I emphasized the importance of maintaining consistency across all assets. Whether it was a landing page header or an email banner, the font had to fit seamlessly into the overall design system.

While Writing Better is a great choice for many applications, it’s not a one-size-fits-all solution. It works best for short headlines, callouts, decorative titles, and display text. For longer copy or formal communication, I recommend sticking to more traditional typefaces. But for creative, engaging campaigns, Writing Better is a standout option.
